Keeping in line with my previous post on The Faint, I've decided to profile Bright Eyes, the product of Conor Oberst. Oberst, once a member of The Faint, has been equally hailed and hated by music critics, but his music is hard to dislike. My first exposure came when I grabbed the commercial break-through album, Digital Ash in a Digital Urn, a more experimental concept album than his previous afforts (and one that turned off many longtime fans). I really enjoyed the sparse, downtempo electronics and shimmering guitars combined with Oberst's subdued vocals on the single Easy / Lucky / Free. However, it is his minimalistic, mostly acoustic recordings that best highlight the genius of Oberst. Here is a collection of tunes spanning several albums to give an introduction to those who have yet to listen to Bright Eyes. Included are two new tracks Four Winds and Tourist Trap which come from the Four Winds CD-single which comes out on March 6th, followed by the new album Cassadaga on April 10th.Four Winds
